Description

A false conclusion that arises as follows:

The statement

"If A, then B"

is negated and the following conclusion is drawn:

"If not A, then not B".

Example

"If a person lives in Berlin, then they live in Germany."

"Person A does not live in Berlin, therefore they do not live in Germany."

Limitations

Related to "Confusion of the Inverse".

This fallacy can be debunked relatively easily and can therefore be avoided through education.
